Taking Back my life.

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by.  I’m Kim.  I love to sew and knit.  I’ve been thinking for a while now that I would like to start a blog to keep track of my sewing endeavors.  I’ve been a stay at home mom for seven years now, and over that time a lot in my life has changed.  Parts of me have taken a back seat to bend with the flow of motherhood, of being a wife and general manager of this here little family.  I am blogging to keep track of the projects that I make and the things I have been doing to reignite those parts of myself, especially creatively.

The evenings are when the magic starts for me.  I have a space in my house that I like to refer to as the ‘Late Night Stitchery’, which is where I sew.  Most nights after the kids are cozy and tucked into bed, I make a cup of tea and head downstairs.  I have been sewing since I was about eight years old and am passionate about it.  Since having kids I have mastered the art of being ‘efficient’ with sewing.  Fabric and patterns get cut out long before I get a chance to sew with them, so when I can get downstairs the actual sewing can begin.  My favorite type of sewing is garment sewing as I love clothing that actually fits!  I long for days of eras past, where clothing was well made and tailored to fit (think  Downton Abbey or Outlander…best.clothing.ever.!!).  I hope someday to have a completely handmade wardrobe.

Please feel free to follow along!

Another first for me today (besides this here little blog post)…Here is a shot of my very long driveway, after having used the snow blower to clear the entire thing all by myself.  Super proud and empowered!
