Speaking of color……do you color?

I picked up a few great coloring books this past fall and tucked them aside. Last month we went to visit my brother in law and his darling wife and he turned me on to coloring. Well, really, he just amazed me. I was blown away by the beauty of what he had created in these books. I never really got into coloring before. I’m sure I did as a child and yes we bring a few books along with the kids when we go out to breakfast….but coloring Scooby Doo never really inspired me. My brother in law’s coloring inspired me. When I flipped through his books, I was looking at beautiful artwork. Needless to say, we are now a coloring family. It’s really relaxing and you can get lost in it. What a great stress release too! After dinner many nights, this family now gets our coloring on.

And somehow this ties into the wallets I’ve sewn the last few nights….(how?)…Ahhh color, that’s how!

I’ve been making these wallets for a while now. I love to put bright colored zippers on them and they are the perfect size for small pieces of fabric that you want to showcase. The main pouch is great for fitting a check book, small calendar and even a phone. The front has two small pockets to hold credit cards. They also make great gifts. I’m trying to make a bunch to have a little present stockpile. I’d love to create a pattern for these too.

I hope your weekend is filled with colorful inspiration………
