Ramblings of a very tired woman……

Happy Monday to you!  I sit here writing this with one eye open and my second cup of STRONG coffee in front of me.  My son is not sleeping very well lately.  He’s four and going through a period of middle-of-the-night-bad-dreams right now.  I know this phase will pass soon (as they all do) but it feels pretty long right about now.  When he wakes up, he wakes us all up.  I feel badly for him and my husband and I take turns loving him up and putting him back to bed.  Sometimes I wake up in his bed and have no idea how I got there, with all of the waking that is going on. Ahhh, what is that saying?  This too shall pass.  Anyway I digress……Sewing was really on my mind!  I am working on something special right now.  My daughter’s school is having a fundraiser and I was asked to produce a creation for their auction.  Here is a sneak peek:

A few weeks ago I made two Oliver + S Ice Cream dresses for my daughter. These are cute, loose, comfortable dresses.  I’m trying to get a jump-start on warmer weather clothing. I made size 8’s but since they are so loose I realize now I should have made a size 7.  That’s ok, I’m sure they will get worn at some point.

My favorite is the color block one.  That’s my girls favorite too.  I’m not sure of what fabric I used as they were solid pieces in my stash.  The floral one is “floral floats voile in fresh” by Art Gallery.  I like it but I think it needs something.  I held up trim to it (small pom poms) but thought it looked too cutesy.  There are pockets that can be added, so maybe I will add them with some other adornment too.

Since I am forever trying to use up my fabric scraps, next on the list are patchwork shorts for my son.  Maybe a few pairs?  Coming soon, I hope!

Wishing you a sleep-filled happy week!
