Warm thoughts and an Esme Tunic

Happy hump day folks.  It’s over 40 degrees out today and I’m celebrating (anything over 30 degrees is cause for celebration)!  Have I mentioned that my favorite weather is beach weather?  There is an official spring countdown going on in my head.

I love New England!  No, really I do.  But winter is my least favorite season (summer being my favorite).  After the holidays and the cozy, nesting, baking period has worn off I begin to get a little impatient for the next season to roll in.  Therefore, I am starting to think about spring and warmer weather clothing.

With that in mind, I made the Esme tunic over the weekend.  The Esme tunic is from Lotta Jansdotter’s new book, “Everyday Style”.  A Christmas present that I couldn’t wait to get!  Are you familiar with Lotta Jansdotter?  She is a Swedish designer and the clothing in this book is very simple and basic, which means it is just my style.

The Esme Tunic was a quick sew and the fabric is Kokka Monochrome by Ellen Baker in charcoal metallic gold.  It is a double gauze fabric and is just so soft you don’t want to take it off.  I have worn it so far with my boots and leggings and love the look.  Plus, it is incredibly comfortable….win-win!

My going-into-February goal is to bust through my fabric stash and clean out my sewing space.  That’s a good winter project, don’t you think?

I hope your Wednesday goes smoothly and you are feeling warmth from within, even if it’s cold where you are…
